The second phase of the international Lelenfant project is just beginning, running until July 31st in Wrocław. This year’s edition features over sixty young artists from around the world, who are working together to create a unique performance titled „Wandering Stories.”

Schedule of events

Rehearsals are taking place at the school and educational center on Dworska Street in the Maślice district of Wrocław, with two groups of children: the international edition of Lelenfant and the rhythm and movement section. In the coming days, we have also planned events open to the public, to which we cordially invite Wrocław residents, both adults and children.

Our events:

July 28th – Everyone Follow Me! Lelenfant Parade | 6:00 PM | Market Square, Fredro Monument | Free admission

July 30th and 31st – „Lelenfant. Wandering Stories” | 6:00 PM | Capitol Music Theatre, Piłsudskiego Street 67 | Tickets available at the link

International edition of Lelenfant - rehearsals for the grand finale (21-31.07)

Rehearsals for the performance will take place from Monday, July 21st, through July 29th (excluding Sunday, July 27th, a public holiday). All children are welcome to attend Dworska Street from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

On July 30th and 31st, rehearsals and performances will take place exclusively at the Capitol Musical Theatre.

Rehearsals will take place in the gymnasium on the campus on Dworska Street, and the artistic process will be led by a team of instructors: Sam Alty, Ehssan Chameiy, Agnieszka Ćwieląg, Hanna Daniszewska, and Sonia Śpiewak-Meres.

Our team works using the „children teaching children” method, developed since 2009. It arose from the need for community, dialogue, and building bridges – through art, play, movement, and silence. Today, continued as part of the Lelenfant program, it represents one of the most authentic examples of democratic peer education in action.

Between performances, rehearsals, and shared cooking, a model is emerging in which children become teachers for each other—not through lectures or instructions, but through experience, ritual, contact, and collaboration. This method is developed thanks to the collective work of educators, artists, directors, and community leaders who constantly seek new ways to create spaces for authentic encounter and creativity.

International Council of Children and Youth Lelenfant

During the international edition, we are implementing an ongoing participatory process, introduced by Hanna Achremowicz. During meetings with groups, we select representatives of the Children and Youth Council, who raise important issues regarding the implementation of the Lelenfant project and the Foundation’s activities. The Council meetings will take place on July 24 and 29 at 1:30 PM on Dworska Street.

One of the activities building dialogue between children and officials will be a meeting with a representative of the city authorities at Wrocław City Hall at 4:00 PM on July 28.

Group Leaders Program

While the children and young people are rehearsing, the group leaders are participating in a rich program prepared and led by Sefan Naoumi. The program includes a children’s rights film debate, children’s rights workshops with Magdalena Szymańska, voice workshops with Ditte Berkeley, and a discussion about youth-focused projects with Iwona Frydryszak (using the Flying HUB as an example).

Accompanying events

As part of this year’s accompanying program, special attention should be paid to two unique events organized by the Przyjaźń Sztuka Edukacja Foundation, which invite both young people and representatives of cultural institutions to actively participate in an international exchange of experiences and inspirations.

The first is Lelenfant – inspoTRIP with Flying Hub, which will take place on July 28, 2025, in Wrocław. This all-day event is aimed at older youth interested in the foundation’s activities and social art projects. Participants will take part in inspiring meetings with young artists from around the world, visit Wrocław City Hall, and become part of the colorful Lelenfant Parade that will pass through the Market Square.

The accompanying event, InspoTRIP – Lelenfant from the Inside, is organized as part of the public project Hot Clinic Discussion – Flying HUB ARTS path in Lower Silesia, co-financed by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the Foundation’s own funds.

The second event, Lelenfant Partnership Days, will take place on July 30 and 31, 2025. The event is aimed at managers of cultural institutions, leaders of social organizations, and anyone seeking valuable, long-term partnerships based on art and education. Over the two days, participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, establish new contacts, and explore ways to build lasting local and international collaboration around the Lelenfant program.

Both events are an excellent opportunity to experience the concept of collaboration, see in practice how an international social and artistic project works, and above all, experience the energy and meaning of collaborative creation.
