OPEN CALL for artists
to participate in the art festival for children and young people
“Lelenfant on the Trails of Nature” in the Barycz Valley.
We invite professional musicians, visual artists, and performers to co-create this unique event, whose heart is nature and its endless inspirations.
Imagine a park that, for one day, turns into a living museum and an open theater stage – a space where art reaches children and young people and happens close by, at your fingertips.
On July 11, 2026, young people from around the world, including over 70 artists from the Lelenfant project, will gather in a historic park in Żmigród nad Baryczą. It will be a day of community, mindfulness, and searching for connections—with each other, with nature, and with place. Activities inspired by the spirit of buskerry will be set up among the trees and along the river—short performances, music, and theater, emerging unexpectedly, close to the viewer, without a clear boundary between stage and audience. These will be accompanied by installations and subtle interventions in the space that will invite pause and attentive observation.
The art will not be concentrated in a single point—it will unfold simultaneously, in a rhythm of walking, discovery, and encounters.
The day will conclude with a concert and the opening of the “Matecznik” installation—monumental, minimalist sculptures made from natural materials (wicker and reeds) found in the local landscape. The installation was created by interdisciplinary artist Grzegorz Korczak and Polish artisans and land artists.
“Lelenfant on Nature’s Trails” is a new initiative of the Przyjaźń Sztuka Edukacja Foundation. This time, adult artists share their practice with young participants, creating a space for dialogue and co-presence, where art becomes a tool for encounter. We invite all children and youth from Lower Silesia and their families to experience this day together.
Artist, can your art speak to the forest, listen to the rustle of the wind, and translate the language of nature into the language of young viewers’ sensitivity? If so, we are looking for you!
We invite musicians, installation artists, and performers to co-create a unique event whose heart is nature and its endless inspirations.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for artists with established professional artistic achievements who are not afraid to experiment and want to invite children and young people on a shared journey through the world of art and ecology. We are accepting applications in three categories:
- Music: Educational concerts, sound workshops, acoustic landscapes inspired by the sounds of nature, or performances using recycled instruments.
- Installations: Spatial forms (interactive, sensory, land art) that will become part of the festival space and allow young audiences to touch and experience.
- Performance: Performative activities, movement theater, happenings, or living sculptures that engage viewers and address the theme of humanity’s relationship with the planet.
The festival’s founder and program director for Lelenfant 2026 is Iwona Frydryszak, the financial director is Michał Patyna, and the executive producer of the “Lelenfant on Nature Trails” festival is Beata Trybusz.
