We invite children and young people from Wrocław to participate in the international edition.

Join us in July on a journey through the cultures of the world!

Lelenfant is more than just a project – it is a real journey through art, emotions and friendship. This year, we are inviting around 20 young artists from Wrocław, aged 10 to 15, to join us on this journey.

Imagine the stage of the Capitol Music Theatre, full of light, music and dance, where 65 young artists from around the world – from Palestine to Kenya to Brazil – will meet! A total of eight international artistic groups will create a joint performance, and you can represent Wrocław with your group.

The condition for participation in the summer edition is attendance at both weekly meetings at the selected location and weekend classes. Participation also involves a fee. Details below.

We start on 4 March with classes in Złotniki and Tarnogaj, and on 7 March with a four-hour workshop with Hanna Daniszewska and Magda Majtyka from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Złotnickie Centrum Spotkań, initiating the spring cycle of preparations for the international edition of Lelenfant.

Regular choreography classes will start on 11 March in Przedmieście Oławskie.
We invite children aged 10 and above who have established artistic skills (have been participating in regular artistic classes for at least a year) and have experience and a desire to perform on stage. Performing on stage is part of the programme, so when registering, please confirm your child’s willingness and readiness to perform on a professional stage in front of an audience of 700 people.

In addition, we invite a group of teenagers who can form a group for Lelenfant on their own terms.

AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Regular art classes in the form of weekly extracurricular activities (Wednesdays in Złotniki and Tarnogaj)

Starting on 4 March, classes will be held every Wednesday in two locations for children and young people preparing for the international edition of Lelenfant. Participation in these regular classes will allow young people not only to improve their artistic skills so that they can join their peers from abroad on a professional and high artistic level. Above all, it will allow for integration, relationships and regular meetings.

In cooperation with our partner organisations – the Critical Education Association and the Złotnickie Meeting Centre – we offer two paths, the choice of which will also determine the allocation in the first stage of the summer international workshops. Participation in extracurricular activities is free of charge and is carried out as part of the ongoing activities of the Critical Education Association and the Złotnickie Meeting Centre.

The choreography group will take part in the first stage of the international edition of Lelenfant from 13 July to 20 July at the Dawna Pralnia location in Księże and in the second stage from 21 July to 28 July in Maślicach.

WEEKEND THEATRE AND CHOREOGRAPHY CLASSES

The spring weekend workshops are at the heart of preparations for the international edition of Lelenfant. This is where we invite all participants of the autumn workshops led by Magdalena Majtyka and Hanna Daniszewska, which culminated in the choreographic show ‘Jesień Tańcuj’ (Dance Autumn), as well as new volunteers!

Under the guidance of Magda and Hania, we will continue to develop this scene with further elements of artistic work, to which we invite young talents from the circus and vocal groups. We will combine choreography and dance, along with circus elements and singing, into one colourful story. This will be Wrocław’s artistic contribution to the international edition of Lelenfant, created by a group of twenty young people.

FAQ

Does my child have to participate in extracurricular and weekend classes to take part in the international edition?
YES, children should join regular classes during the week depending on the location chosen for the international edition.

If my child did not participate in the autumn ‘Jesień Tańcuj’ workshops, can they join the classes?
YES, we are conducting a new recruitment process, so children who have not previously participated in Lelenfant can join the group preparing for the international edition.

If my child has participated in Lelenfant more than twice, can they join for a third time?
YES, provided there are places available. If there are many applicants, priority will be given to children who have participated less than twice in the international edition.

Is the group only for girls and does it include dancing?
NO, the instructors will create a performance based on the children’s various talents, including circus and music.

Can my child choose the location for the international edition?
NO, the choice of location is related to the assignment to the location of extracurricular activities. Children participating in classes in Tarnogaj will be assigned to Księża Małe, and those in Złotniki will be assigned to Złotniki.

My child is afraid of performing on stage. Can they join the project?
At Lelenfant, we do not provide special socio-psychological preparation to help overcome stage fright. When declaring their participation in Lelenfant, children should be aware that participation involves public performances and express their willingness and readiness to do so. Therefore, if your child is afraid of public performances, please do not enrol them in this project at this stage of their social and emotional development. We encourage you to follow your child’s wishes.

Does my child need to have artistic skills to enrol in Lelenfant?
YES, Lelenfant is an artistic project for children and young people from all over the world, young artists aged 10-15 who have been regularly practising various forms of performing arts for years. Lelenfant is not a project in which children develop their talents from scratch, but rather hone them and share their craft with their peers in a ‘children teach children’ method.

INTERNATIONAL EDITION OF LELENFANT (13–28 July 2026)

Lelenfant is an international artistic and educational project implemented by the Friendship Art Education Foundation, bringing together children and young people from different cultural backgrounds in a creative process that develops social, communication and cultural skills. It is not only a festival, but above all a long-term process of cultural education that strengthens the agency of young people, promotes attitudes of openness, shared responsibility and active participation in culture, and creates lasting relationships between local communities in a given neighbourhood, artists and CALs.

In 2026, it will take place in two stages – in Księży Mały (in the Old Laundry, 180 Krakowska Street, in the Dialogue Theatre of the ART JTM Foundation) and in Złotniki (Złotnicki Meeting Centre, ul. Wielkopolska 7) in the first stage, where two international teams of about 30 people will exchange their skills and cultures. The second stage will consist of rehearsals for the Lelenfant Grand Finale, which this year will take place on 27 and 28 July at the Capitol Music Theatre. The Wrocław team, which will prepare its own performance under the supervision of Hanna Daniszewska and Magda Majtyka, will be divided into two locations in the first stage, to meet again in the second stage for rehearsals on Dworska Street and present their jointly developed spring performance to their peers from around the world.
